About

Jeroen Dumoulein graduated from Brussels based filmschool RITS in 2001. He started out as a director on non-fiction television shows for Belgian broadcaster Canvas.

Jeroen made the short sci-fi film ‘Up’ in 2002 and short black comedy ‘Dear Granddad’ in 2005. The films gathered acclaim on various film festivals around the world and led to several assignments in the commercial business.

In 2004 Jeroen became a director on ‘Wittekerke’, a popular series on VTM, Flanders’ number one commercial network. After three seasons on the show Jeroen established himself as a television fiction director. He directed episodes for ‘Zone Stad’, ‘Louislouise’, ‘Ella’, ‘Aspe’, ‘Nachtwacht’, ‘Coppers’,… working in many genres and for all major television channels and production companies in Belgium.

Because cinema is still a great passion Jeroen made another short in 2015. ‘The Pond’ is a short horror and mystery film and won an award at the Brussels Fantastic Film Fest, which paved the way for numerous film festival selections (and some more awards!) all around the world. The film was also nominated for an Ensor award.

Recently Jeroen has been working on ‘Spitsbroers’, a series that received a Special Jury mention at the Series Mania Festival in Paris and on ‘Gent West’, a prison drama on Vier that is about to release its second season.

Jeroen intends to keep working in different genres and shooting styles, always aiming to ‘tell the story right’.
